Middle School - Sixth Grade General Music

In 6th Grade General Music students are involved in listening to, analyzing, composing and improvising music. These skills are taught through structured individual and group activities that include the use of music technology, movement, playing instruments, and singing.  

Student Behavior Expectations are based on the word, MUSIC. 

  • M– Make Good Choices
  • U – Use Kind Words
  • S – Show Respect
  • I – Involve Yourself – Do Your Best
  • C – Care for our room and instruments

Grading is pass/fail and is based upon the following criteria: 

  1. Attitude and Effort
  2. Class Participation
  3. Demonstration of musical growth during daily classroom activities
